Subaru Liberty 3.0R Spec B or Subaru Liberty 2/2.5GT Spec B?

Nearly everything is in here to start with.

Subaru Liberty 3.0R Spec B or Subaru Liberty 2/2.5GT Spec B?

Postby Um_Adam » Wed Aug 22, 2018 11:22 am

Hi All,

I'm currently looking at getting either are Subaru Liberty 3.0R Spec B or a Subaru Liberty 2.0GT Spec B/Subaru Liberty 2.5GT Spec B.

I've been saving for the last few years or so and am looking to purchase a Spec B soon (Don't know which model/engine type exactly yet).

I was wondering, should I buy a Subaru Liberty 3.0R Spec B (as they seem to be on average cheaper), or should I keep saving and buy a Subaru Liberty 2.0/2.5GT Spec B?

I currently would prefer which ever engine type that allows for more tuning options, I also have big plans for the car, widebody kit, air suspension, etc.
I plan to keep the car for a while and plan to sink a lot of $$$ into it.

How is the reliability of these subaru's? Maintenance Costs Etc...

Just wanting people's input on which car would be better for tuning.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks guys!

You need boooost :D

I know the 3.0R is awesome too, but I've had a number of turbo cars and I personally prefer boost. The ultimate combo would be 3.0R with boost ... or 3.6 with boost like super gramps from mighty car mods

The 4 banger is better for tuning, more aftermarket support.
You'll find a lot of stock location turbo options.
Pistons and rods are easy to find.

Both the 4 and the 6 blow headgaskets. So watch out for that when buying.
