I'm looking to install an aftermarket seat into my gen 4 sedan and need some pointers....

Is there any wrx sti seats that will bolt straight in?

Anybody have experience in putting aftermarket seats in a gen 4?

Does anybody have any links/information on rails to suit gen 4 libs?

Anything would be greatly appreciated, I've had a quick look and can't really find anything obvious, I'm struggling to find a good explanation and can't find any examples with details.

The future is now old man.
Try looking on RHDJapan for rails (like Sparco, Bride, etc.).

Probably better for you to take your current seat off, take measurements of dimensions, mount points, etc. and then go hunting.
You can then post your finding here if you want (what I normally do so there is some sort of information, maybe I'm "old-skool"), or keep it to yourself, whatever makes you happy.

My08+ STi seats fit, meaning any Impreza model of the G3 shape will work...
Aftermarket race seats: anything should go with 08+STi rails.
Generally there’s 2 types, lower mount & side mount, the latter is usually fixed back seat specific.
Lower mount applications are generally specific to the matching brand seat, so eg recaro rails for 08+ Sti will match a recaro seat and so on.
So you could get eg s/h RenaultSport or Audi etc Recaro CS, recaro rails for 08+ Sti, airbag adapter plugs and you’d be in business.
Bear in mind the STi spec R seats are amazing but the driving position is higher which may affect taller drivers.
If your new seats are non airbag google seat airbag resistor mod.
