why is this forum dead

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Technology changes, people get lazy, Facebook is on your phone.

Forums these days are archive pages for information. Which is why I say there should be a wiki to add/modify pages of information.

Its because this is mostly a Liberty forum

The forum you get valuable information which is generally clear and concise, the facebook page gets 100 fan boys trying to out funny each other, you still get your answer but you have to sift through the crap to find it, take your pick.

That’s ^ a little harsh!
Surely stooping to the level encountered somewhere we don’t need to be?

Don’t forget that bullying and butthurt go hand in hand, if one never gets butthurt, the bullying tends to evaporate.
If not a little direct reasoning with humour or an emphatic pact can de-fuse the situation, ask me how I know!

I’d say, in my experience, the forum never went away.
It’s been ticking over slowly and remains a great place to park your info, updates and assistance.

I check in weekly to help out on the FB Subaru groups, usually by posting a google site search, or link to, this forum.
Not to mention the few key parts I’ve scored (bargain version 9 dccd box) by casting a wide net across various Subaru related FB groups.

Now that I have extra funds for discretionary car part related purchases (at last), FB visits are getting dangerous!

When I joined the forum in 2011, there were quite a few big builds pushing the performance, handling and style envelope, and we all benefited from the extensive trials and tribulations.

There was also heaps of shit posting, spam, bitching, flaming and banter. Entire threads and certain members posts were deleted in their entirety.

So overall the forum is currently a much better place to be, a great alternative when one needs a refuge from social media :)
Even more so now that eg the gen4 is a sub 10 or 20k investment in grand touring heaven :good:

Now if we could just add an RSS feed here, I’d be even happier.

Additionally, part of the issue is there’s no “like” or “thanks” buttons for posts here, therefore no easy, instant dopamine hits for those thusly conditioned :P

I thought it's because Subaru doesn't bring any of the interesting specs to Australia since the 2009...
