2004 liberty wagon 2.0 turbo cam sensor

hi guys, just wondering about cam sensor for drivers side exhaust cam, have had to buy a new one as subaru says they cant get just an O ring, problem is i cant get the sensor out its loose can move it side to side, but when i start pulling down on it, it only comes out about 3 mm, and wont come any further, any thoughts guys, thanks in advance

that sensor gets destroyed by the heat of the exhaust
CURRENT - ATP GTX 3576 - 22psi - 283.7awkw
OLD - Dom 1.5Xtr - Last dyno 254ahkw, previous 238ahkw, first 224awkw.
