Hi all,

well so i was washing the car and i find a lovely big freakin scratch on the back bumper about 6-8cm long which is showing the bumper underneath the paint and some lovely scrape marks along the bottom...

i am so P!SSEd right now... how ppl can just back into your car cos they cant drive for sh!t and just leave.... the thing that gets me is i dunno when and where it happened.... and there's nothing i can do to stop it from happening again...

it irritates me and irritates me more that my beautiful car has a blemish on it... any tips on fixing it without major cost ..... in a perfect world i'd re-spray the bumper... but im not made of money....

Man, that's sux. I'm sure you would do anything to catch the person responsible or actually catch them in the act. Introduce a lead pipe to their noggin.

That sucks man. Looks like it cut through the paint too.

I remember with my first lib, parked outside office works and ran in for some supplies one afternoon, came out to find that someone rammed a trolley into the side of my passenger door. Left a Huge dint and took off the paint. Had to be one of the most frustrating moments of my life.

it's like the person that i actually catch tagging a part of my pub... they're not gonna deserve the entire volcano of fury that they receive .... but they're gonna cop it anyway

just today i was washing my car and i after i had cleaned the layer of dust off it. i discovered someone had opened they're door onto my front passenger door. Some blardy red car...

It's all part and parcel of owning a nice car... I've gotten over it already.

Yeah that has gotta suck.

Think of it as adding character.... it has happened to me before and at the cost of respraying or thinking it now has character, saved me a few hundred dollars in respray

liquid paper works well on minor scuffs like that...

People suck. Our Skyline has been reversed into no less than three times - at least once was deliberate, the guy was a permanent tenant of a caravan park in Ipswich, driving an EA Falcon - and driven into the back of once (while we were in it!). It's also had a door opened really hard into one side, someone has scuffed the front bar on one corner at the bottom, idiots banging bags and things into it as they carelessly wander between cars. My bike has had a beer bottle thrown against it, and I frequently get back to it and find the mirrors bent back or forwards. My old Skyline had two tail enders (4 years apart) and someone kicked the door while I was in a doctor's surgery. I even came back to it when someone was loading their bags into their own car, and they had put their bags on my roof and bonnet while they were sorting their shit out, their response was "get over it, it's just a car"... the stupidity, short-sightedness and selfishness of people never ceases to amaze me.

And yes, I learned to stop letting it get to me years ago. It won't save the person I catch damaging my stuff though

Sadly it's bound to happen if you use your car.

I have heaps of stone chips & dents in my doors (Although they are fixed now ). I'm really careful where I park & stuff still happens.

Probably because they have a brown BMW X5, don't look before changing lanes, don't indicate before changing lanes, try to run you off the road and give you the finger when you let them know you're there.

I swear that happens to me on a daily basis. But I guess that's normal here in Sydney.

Nicely put though I see more often the silver or white X5s.

Same thing happened to me two days after i got my car only i was in mine! D#!k head gets out and tells me there aint no damage but it was exactly the same only bigger and longer scratches. NOT HAPPY Oh yeah and his licence conditions didnt allow him to drive between sunset and sunrise so he already had probs seeing where he was going!

You should try it on a motorbike. Guarantee that they won't see you, and you can double or treble the grief they want to give you because you're some suicidal, lane splitting menace to society
