Valve Guide Issue

Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with Valve Guides moving in a motor with less than 100K

in my case,Valve guide collapsed causing valve to stop operating and hence motor not firing on that cylinder. Only way to confirm is to remove head. I have been told that movement of the guide is fairly common with Subarus even whilst still under warranty and so was wondering what other peoples experience was

I have personally seen a "dropped" valve guide in a set of EJ25 SOHC NA heads that were holding one of the vavles open.

I bought a pair of heads reportedly low kilometres and the seller did not mention anything about a dropped guide.
When stripping the heads I found the single dropped guide and made a punch and pushed it back home.
The heads are now installed on an engine and in the car and have not given any issues since.

I think that it would be much better if engine designers made their valve guides with a small step in the diameter so they could be inserted home against a shoulder?
