Fob key working intermittedly fixed

Postby Scottmw » Thu Jul 13, 2017 2:57 pm

I had scoured the internet for a fix for this but none matched 2010 liberty key. Dealer wanted way too much for a replacement so I pulled it apart and managed to fix with soldering iron. The battery holder/bracket easily breaks when changing batteries. You need to strip it down to circuit board and then solder back on. Now works perfectly.

Cool, thanks for the tip :good:.

One of my two Gen4 keys gets a bit intermittent once the battery gets a bit old. But that's after only 6 months of use, whereas the other key lasts for 18months+. So I'll give the soldering a try. Maybe the contact is bad enough to cause a voltage drop.
