JDM 06 Spec B Radio AUX IN

Postby ZackaryHenry1 » Sat Jul 08, 2017 10:10 pm

Okay, So I know this topic is pretty beat to death, but I need help.

I have a Japanese Spec, 2006 Legacy 3.0R Spec B.
It came with a full McIntosh system, the pf-41131 to be exact.

I have been researching for weeks, and finally got everything I needed together and dove in.

Took everything apart down to the board, while there I found out my radio HAS an Aux plug! It's 8 pins, but only 5 are used.
So I used my AUX connector thingy, and connected the Aux left, and right, and the ground to every option I could think of and I got nothing.

I push the AUX button on the radio, and it says AUX1, but no input at all...

Am I missing something?
Is there another option? I planned on doing the Radio splice in thing, but my board is completely different from the guide I found for that, so idk how to do it.

Please help.

As far as I know....
1. I can't put in a new head unit with the JDM double din kit, because I lose the McIntosh amp and crossovers.
2. FM Transmitters suck, please just don't.
3. Some sort of "Silent" CD? But I can't figure out how that applies to my headunit either, with the 6 CD Changer built in.

IDK if it matters, but there is also a second screen above the radio for NAV and Back up camera.
Everything is stock.

Thank you in advance! Please send help!

Diy aux in using a molex plug, probably for postfl mcintosh.
Then plug a belkin air cast auto or other bt audio adapter eg the himbox which is said to work well:

Found that before and tried.
I used one of the AUX splicer thingies and tapped into the wires with no luck.
The device I had was an AUX pass through. So 5 wires. Radio in and out, and then AUX Left and Right and a ground.
I hooked up the Left and right appropriately, and then hooked the ground up to everything i could think of. No luck on any of them.
My Radio has an AUX button, and the Radio says AUX, but no signal goes through at all.

Read all about it here:

Make sure you're activating it correctly as some buttons require a double tap.
Also use the correct ground as a lot of suby grounds on the loom are variable which you'll either need or not.
