Will I need a camber kit?

Nearly everything is in here to start with.

Will I need a camber kit?

Postby FishJr » Mon Jan 09, 2017 6:42 pm

I own a 06 Subaru Liberty/Legacy, I got some BBS rims and they are 18x9.5+38 with EITHER tread of 235/40/18 or 225/40/18 based on which one i will and wont need a camber kit with once i get coils! Im not sure if i will need a camber kit on the 235 (i have been told by my brother who has some knowledge but can be wrong at times that i will need one). Just need someone who has really good knowledge on that stuff. Basically which Sizing will be best or atleast if both can be fine with no camber kit that would be AWESOMEEEE. (sorry im bit of a noob with this stuff im 18 and this is my first car hahah)

Definite camber required, plus guards pulled AND rolled

Minimum camber front will be 2.3 to 2.5 degrees (which you won't get with stock suspension) and rears closer to 3 degrees.

You will also definitely need to trim the plastic piece joining the rear door jamb to the bottom sil panel.

Depending on tyre brand, 235 40 18 will be your best doable option. This will be stretched.

Cheers man, sorry to be a pain, can you be more precise on where I need to trim? And when you say trim we talking 1-5cm's or a couple inches

Have a look forward of your rear wheels. between the door and the wheel there's a plastic trim piece which pops outwards. The section which folds around near the wheel has to be cut away about 1cm or however big it is - you'll see what I mean.

You're talking about the edge sticking inward toward the centre of the car?

If so, what did you use to trim it? (to create more clearance)
