Help!! Need advice to fix my issue!

Postby FishJr » Thu Jan 05, 2017 5:19 pm

So! I recently bought some BBS rims to go on my liberty, these BBS are 18x9.5 +38 (yes aggressive). They fit perfectly considering scrubbing against any suspension etc but the issue is they poke ALOT! I have thought about fender rolling but not sure if it will make it little less. I'll obviously lower just funding for the coils which will make it sit in a bit more I've heard but not sure! The pics I have are just the car jacked with rim on (got no tyre and what tyre should I get I'm stumped) I've heard if I lower the car with wood under it cambers in a bit more too but I'm not sure! Please help!

I'm aware it won't be legal just wondering best way to look under the radar at least!

I run 19 x 9.5 but they are +43. Did the math on mine and decided i was gonna have about 5mm poke, so wrapped in some stretched tyres and dropped quite a bit, they're manageable.

At +38 you're gonna have an extra 5mm to deal with - 10mm poke is a bit more significant. If you stretch some tyres over them, 235/35 it might make it look a little less aggressive. The only other way you will manage it is with coilovers and some camber

This is mine as it sits.

You will need camber, gaurd roll and pull. You will also need to trim the plastic covers at the front of the rear wheel well, and ether cut or roll the section under that (due to the trailing arm design, the wheel comes forward).

Two choices, sell those wheels and buy something that'll fit (so 8-8.5 with offset around +45), or make your car look like this (and enjoy the Police attention):

Not sure what the rage is about this stretched tyre stance thing, trashes driveability and makes your car look like it has four puckering arse holes.

Each to their own champ.

Haven't been looked at twice by a cop since i bought the car and driveability is actually delicious.

*probably worth mentioning that i drive past the biggest police station in Melbourne twice daily and park literally across the road from the AFP building next to many of their cars. In my experience they are much more concerned about how you're driving than what you're driving. Don't be a dick and you should be sweet.

**Actually that's a lie; i did get pulled over on the way to work by one of them pulling out of their car park for a random breatho once - didn't even seem to notice the car.

Thanks man! Yeah I chucked her on some blocks today she went in further (cambered a lil) I'm probably chucking that size tyre on them so that they look little less aggressive, might play safe and roll fenders a lil jus to make sure no scrub, coils are on there way now and should have them in might put -2 camber or -1 just to make a little less aggressive as well we will see! But thanks heaps bro atlesst you are helpful unlike some people who think their opinion is more important and just avoid the idea of this forum and that's to suggest HELPFUL ideas not just "sell the bullshit my car looks sickererererer"

Location?
If melb get your coilovers (shockworks or mca please) set up at raceline suspension out east.
They did BSpec which is the same spec tho you may need to take care of the guard roll & trimmings.
