Engine check light :(

Postby sgoinon » Wed Dec 14, 2016 5:41 pm

Hi

Iv had an intermitent check engine light since i got my gen 2.
Read memory mode came up the the knock sensor code so I
Replaced the knock sensor.
Since replacing the knock sensor the check engine light has become consitent. It remains on when the engine starts until it reaches operating temp, then turns off and remains off. any idea what the problem could be?

Cheers for any help

well if i were you i wouldn't put e10 ever again because it can cause damage the engine like it did on my younger cousins gen 3, he accidentally but one tank of e10 and he blew his head gasket.

for your issues id suggest checking out the injectors(cleaning or replacing them) and replacing spark plugs, and only ever use 98

Maybe the O2 sensor.

Also I don't think e10 ever blew anyone's headgasket.
That is just how subarus roll. They blow headgaskets if you look at them wrong.

Give the airflow sensor a clean as well.

yes they are notorious for head gaskets, but his popped halfway through a tank of e10 which he accidentally put in.
