Hey

I just got a new set of wheels and tires from a reckers,
But they didnt have a full set of tires. Got a pair of 225/45/r17 bridgstones on the back and 215/45/r17 continentals on the front.
Will this cause issues with my transfer case ect???
On a 98 gen 2

Cheers :)

Ive had multiple subarus and never bothered to match the tyre brands front to rear, just the size.

Even if you get the same tyres for every corner, there is no way you'll get them to wear perfectly even. To me that will make it just as bad as having different brands.

Your front and rear tyres have different diameters, so this will cause a difference in drivetrain speed between the front and rear, thus casing the centre diff/clutch (IIRC Gen2 use a transfer clutch for auto/centre diff in manual) to constantly make up for the speed difference.

Not a good thing.

Potentially good for CorgiWerx?
Maybe not?
We do not support the Viscous Coupler in that early series and there are many parts to be swapped when retrofitting the latter model CD into the early gearbox.

Run identical tyre sizes all round.
