Liberty GT Spec B Verso tuned by Sean @ Allstar Garage last night. Big improvement on the bum dyno, no more throttle hesitation or stutter. Will be driving the Lib for a couple of weeks before the next stage, Phat dump pipe and AVO TMIC then re-tune.

Liberty GT Spec B no performance mods except HKS Panel Filter, Resonator removed. Retained Stock Boost of 1.1 bar but kept it from dropping off and A/F ration of 11.2 raised to 11.7

So correct me if i'm wrong, but you went from ~141kw atw (190hp / 1.341) to ~153kw atw (205.6hp / 1.341) with just a Verso tune?

Yep those gains are with just the tune. There is boat loads of timing in the Subaru stock tune. Plenty of room for increases but we all agreed to be conservative with this tune.

I've been told that too Dave (re stock tune) esp on the t/b STI's. They also run a bit rich, so there's a few kw's in that too. Nice work!

No question about the stock tune being rich I can tell you. Also the Verso flash offers a Launch Control function as well, this will be tested over the next couple of weeks.

What boost are you running with the Verso tune?

stock boost level has not changed...yet

So what is Verso exactly? I thought Open ECU was Open ECU...

Yes it will work with manual or auto Libs. Verso is essentially open source software developed specifically for ecu flash tune of Subaru and Mitsubishi turbo charged cars.

As Dave will atest to the skill is the tuner not the software, the real power of the Verso tune lies in Sean and Peter and their knowledge of how the subaru's work and now with SI drive....

He knows his stuff and I had mine tuned with Open ECU.

They in a position to sell the software to other tuners?

I can think of several places in Sydney that would be keen to get their hands on it if its as good as you say it is

The brains behind Verso is a friend of mine. He is a computer guru with a career as well. He is very wary about giving just any tuner the software because if the tuner doesn't know what he is doing then boom boom and bad mouthing of Verso commences.
