Failing dashboard in a 2006

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Just keep going with the process, patiently & politely…
You may have to wait for eg a new production run of dashes.

Subaru did mine around two years ago.

Did you have to pay anything towards it ?
And who do I go to for an 'independent' report ?

Here's mine currently. I had the sunroof open and where the sun shone through it left a perfect edge of the sunroof opening.
The stickiness has dried but still shiny.

As a recall item, the dash and install was gratis.

So I’ve had luck just using a lint free cloth and distilled water to clean both dash states: stickiness and cloudiness.

Parking in the shade helps keep the dash stable, otherwise use your sunroof blind and a windscreen shade.

That won’t help the crack that visible in the pic, tho.

An independent report: maybe your local mechanic?

Perhaps get a notary eg at your local post office to verify any photos and documents?

Was able to get two automotive trimming shops willing to do reports. They said mine was definitely one of the problem dashboards.
Local dealer said the dash pads are available.

I note that the Facebook page on melting dashboards is now broken, taken down - anybody know what happened there?
Now have the problem myself, getting usual run around.

Not sure I'd worry.
Subaru has just advised they're no longer interested in helping.
