Hi guys,

I have a 2006 Subaru liberty (2.0r) and the power steering is messed up

about 2 months ago I replaced the alternator and put a new belt in, ever since then, on and off the power steering has been playing up, as I start the car it will squeal for about 4-5 seconds and then at idle will shudder really bad when turning and squeal again, when I get moving it goes away and drives normal, but when I slow down to turn into my driveway or park, it starts again, I have no idea what it is, and don't really want to spend x amount of dollars to replace the pump if I can help it.

also, every now and then when I have less than half a tank of fuel, there is a huge flat spot between 2500rpm and 4000rpm, when it hits 4k rpm it will take off like a nasa rocket, almost feels like a turbo car, it's not really helpful for traffic and makes it sound like I am a terrible driver..

all I have done to the car is put a 2.5" xforce catback on

and it's an Auto if that helps
