So I'm due to pick up my new car tomorrow (Pajero) and I'm doing a clean up of my car (MY06 TBSTI wagon) and I notice the coolant looks a tad low. I top it up to full and then pop out locally. There were no overheating issues before topping up the coolant that I was aware of yesterday. Only issue I noted was that the a/c wasn't working properly when I put the car in the drive last night. So Yesh I popped out and 2 mins down the road the car is overheating. Got home and I can see slight bubbling just below where the yellow label (not the cap) is in the pic. The sponge on the edge on the top on the radiator is soaked in coolant now.

New radiator?

Yeah new rad will sort it out.
Easy job to do. And they don't cost that much.

Just don't drive it while its in this condition and it should be ok.
Overheating in the space of 2 mins seems to be quite fast. Even with a leaking rad. Sure hope you haven't done a headgasket.

At least now you'll have a new car soon.

The car was running hot for a total of 4 mins as i had popped over to my folks who are 2 mins away and back home (seatbelt beeper stops as soon as i get to their place)

Do you have an idea of a link or source where i can get one. Its for an EJ20 turbo auto engine.

That's one example. Should find them on ebay from 150 to 200. Just contact the seller to confirm compatibility.

Since you're selling the car no point in getting anything better. The ones on ebay look the same as a stock one from my experience and work just as well.

If you were keeping the liberty then I'd probably suggest something with aluminium end tanks but plastic is fine for years.

You'll find a guide online how to remove it.
Typically just 3 bolts from the top of the radiator support.
The fan cables need to be disconnected. Then the trans fluid lines disconnect (easier from under the car).
And obviously the coolant hoses need to come off.
Overall shouldn't take more than an hour to swap and properly bleed the coolant.

I don't imagine that an average rad shop would charge too much for the whole job if you don't have time to spend on it.
