Anyone gone through this yet?
What would I expect to pay through a Subaru dealership?
What about if it were a third-party workshop?

I guess your engine is due for a timing belt change at 100,000.
That's one advantage of the 3.0R, it has a chain

Yup - timing belt, bearings, tensioner... brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, engine oil, spark plugs...

official price will rage between $1050-1280.. "real" price always seams to end up nearer $1600

I ended up paying $1600 but that included new front pads and I supplied the engine, gearbox and diff oils
Would have been over $2000 if Subaru had done it.....

Yeah it was, but there's a couple of others somewhere on the 100K one.

I have to say I'm sure that I posted in one like this b4...
Anyway, I got mine done at a subaru specialist mech and it came in around the $1100 - $1200 mark. I don't know for sure as I got all the shocks done at the same time... But that was elf fully synthetic int he motor and redline in the box etc. No expense spared type service as I am keeping it for several more years...

From memory Subaru wanted $1700 or so.
Got it done at Pulse Racing in Sydney for about $1100 including retune etc.
Awesome job too.
