Hi All,

When I step on the brake pedal to decelerate harder than normal, my wiper turns on and does a single wipe on the windshield. Has anyone encountered the same? Thanks

Nope, never heard of it before either.

Only possibility is if it is programmed to occur to ensure Eyesight has a clear windshield regardless of rain or not when heavy braking occurs, as it may indicate a possible collision and so other sustems maybe need input from it, but I can think of a couple of ways as to how the computer could work out whether it's actually raining or not and if a wipe maybe needed.

Edit: cant see anything in the Eyesight Supplement instructions that indicate it would do this.

Should still be under warranty so ask Subaru to check it out.

Only thing I can think of if its not programmed maybe a dodgy wiper switch with a loose contact in the switch that physically moves under heavy braking.

Thanks for that. I still remember the early days (mid 80's) when a car does something like that was when it had a weak battery.

I'll ask Subaru on the next service (due this March 2016). I'll post their comments (whether reasonable or fallacy)....
