Hi Guys..

Here's a question..

I can get a MY07 LGT (Not Spec B) with ~22K on the clock.. OR I can get an MY07 LGT - TB STI with about 20k on the clock

Both in "as new" condition.. $14,000 price difference..

Is it worth an extra $14k for the STI (both Auto)...

And dont tell me to buy the STI cos its an STI!

Going to put a deposit on one of the two before the end of the week......

i was in the same situation before i bought my one.. i went for the GT model but mine is spec B

i weight up my options and the STi is a good car but i couldnt justify the extra $14,000..

With the STi you mainly pay for the STI badge..

My opinion go for the GT model and spend an extra $5000 to mod it the way you want

I already have a set of 18's (Blitzens) .. the big attraction for me is "factory" suspension.. so if it develops rattles they will fix it.. where as with the normal LGT I have to drop it myself, meaning any rattles will be my own problem!

sti one hands done......... take it for spin and you get what i am talking about.

upsides for the sti is most of the suspension gear is already done, except for sways bar could be better, unless you want coilovers, you got the sti ecu with more power, brembos, and of course all the glitter parts like strut bar and sti cans sill plates and sti cluster and sti seats.

What was the deal breaker for you? The glitz or the extra's? 14k over the lease doesnt make that much difference (~300/month) .... so I am more looking to get it right the first time!

F&CK dont say that.. one of the major reasons of looking at the STI was for the "quiet" suspension!

yeah the glitter factor......... mate you have not seen my car in the flesh....... the dirtiest and most driven one around. the deal breaker was the final price and lease deal I got, I would have not even considered it for the glitter aka wank factor for the extra 14k

sorry maybe the 07 model is different, as they seem to lower then 08... or maybe its just me.

but the creek is there, the right rear, i got it and so has another member here......

I'd go the TB STI.

Of course 14k worth of mods to the standard GT, would get you better handling & performance + you've already got 18's to put on it.

If its a lease like mine then its a no brainer and trust me if you start naming off the differences in the two cars you understand why. This MY07 does not suffer any suspension issues at all and is the best balanced and handling Suby I ever purchased stock. I've owned 6 over my lifetime too.

gtspecb sti is refering to the 07 tb sti, the 08 tb sti had the 225/40R18 Bridgestone RE050As

it really depends what your plans for the car are..

Mods or Stock

If your going to Mod it, i would prob say go for the GT

Stock go the STI
