Hi. I can't tell you anything about different models. Here in Qld, Qld Motorways has just one etoll tranponder available. According to their website, we can use etoll on any toll road in NSW and Vic as well as Qld. I'd assume that the same would apply to yours, particularly Qld, anyway.

All the etags you can get down here in Melbourne work on all Melbourne and Sydney tollways.

The old ones are big and clunky, and look a bit like this:

The new ones are much smaller and easier to mount discreetly:

It's interesting that Eastlink/Breeze say this on their website:
We know that the tags most people have are too big and bulky, and many people like their car to look good. That's why we've worked with designers in Melbourne and Sweden to create a new tag design that's exclusive to Breeze. The Breeze tag is the smallest tag in Australia, and probably the smallest in the world.

Breeze tags have an easy-to-use holder for attaching the tag to your vehicle's windscreen. Once attached, the tag can be easily removed and replaced. Tag holders are free of charge.

Which is rubbish. The new tags from Citylink are almost identical, just a different logo on the case.

i have an e-tag from brisbane and when i went to sydney the transponder worked on the highways.. :D

However, i did get caught out in the city centre of sydney.. didn't hear the beep so i guessed it was a different system to that of the major highways..

Apart from that.. it should work on all major highways..

I just noticed, further down on the same page it says:
Breeze tags work on all tollways in Australia. Use EastLink and CityLink in Melbourne, as often or as little as you need. If you travel to Sydney or Brisbane you won't need to have coins for the toll plazas, and you won't need to worry about getting an e-pass for Westlink M7, Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Cross City Tunnel or Lane Cove Tunnel. Just use your tag to breeze on through, and where there's an express lane for tags, you can take full advantage of it.

I just got an e-tag from the RTA. Hasn't had any dramas & it is ment to work on all the toll roads in VIC, NSW & QLD. Of course, I'm yet to test them on any interstate toll roads :P

Works well, but its a littel chunky for my liking. Plus it does stand out a bit compaired to the ones you can get in VIC.

If your not worried about getting your bond back if / when you do return it, I know a lot of people who have sprayed them black.

Just get an Eastlink one then, they're not fussy who gets them! ;)

Works on all the roads listed at: http://breeze.com.au/page.aspx?code=COMPATIBLE

Can't believe there are people who still don't have these!!

SOOOOO much easier.. even if it doesn't beep, there's no penalty when they send you the letter..

It would be better if there were no toll roads, but these are essential!

I've got an etag one and did a run from Bris to Melb and back on toll roads in each state along the way, mine worked flawlessly on all toll roads :)
