Have run it in my GT (Don't any more due to the high premium over 98).

Gave me a very slight performance gain (& I mean very slight). Mainly in throttle response. Gave me crappy fuel economy as the ethanol burns quicker + I gave it a little more stick to test it out. For general info, I didn't feel any difference until I ran 2-3 tanks.

Haven't heard anything negative about running in boxer engines, but I can confirm Porsche do not recommend running it.

Rumour I've heard is that the ethanol goes bad after awhile. So if you only go through a tank every few weeks, it can actually decrease performance. Can any one confirm or shed more light on this?

Shell is phasing out the sale of the 100 PULP Fuel as its not economically viable for them any more.

I've done the last 15,000km in my GTB on V-Power Racing. No problems at all. As stated by Burgs, it is no longer.

That might explain why they sell the 100ron for the same price as the 98ron at my local shell ... lol..

I was a big fan of BP Ultimate (98 RON) for a long time before Phil recommended the V-Power Racing. :big_boss:

When I first tried it, I wasn't too impressed. Didn't feel that much different yet I was paying more. But after 2-3 tanks, improvements were more apparent and now I'm loving it! :yahoo:

There were a few times when I had to switch back to BP Ultimate because the Shell station near my house was out of V-PR, and the car just felt so sluggish. I don't know if it's because people say that you should stick to one brand as the car has gotten used to it, and it would have taken me 2-3 tanks for the car to adjust fully back to BP.

It'll be a pity to see it go.

Unless reset, the factory ECU is very slow to adjust to a higher quality fuel. Any detonation caused by a lower RON rating will however result in an instantaneous reversion to a more conservative tune, making it run worse than if you just used the lower RON from the start.

The other thing I liked about VPR is it didn't seem subject to the fuel price cycle. Expensive on Saturday and expensive on Tuesday. I don't queue up at petrol at stations and would rather pay an extra $2 for my tank of fuel than do that.

If it's an ethanol blend, I'd be careful about using it. I have a MY07 2.5i. Subaru said that I was fine to use ethanol blended fuel in the 2.5i, but they did not endorse using it in a turbo model.

I only have used 98 minimum in my GT.

Started off with Shell V Power as I'm a long fan of Shell, the odd Caltex Vortex 98 and awhile ago I switched to BP Ultimate 98 which I was hit with a bad batch with effectively killed my cat..

I've stayed away from BP Ultimate pretty much after that, with the odd 3-5 fills ever.. a few times Caltex again because Shell or BP would be out of premium and now I've switched back to Shell the last two months.

I don't bother filling up on price cycles anymore - I just do it when I need it and stop at $50 bux regardless as I consider it a fixed required cost.

My car was driving shit again last week on thurs and friday, pretty damn bad and it had been progressive.. gave the old girl a clean in the maf sensor 2 weeks before that and then reset the ecu sunday.. Monday came and the car has been driving 100% like it hasn't done for the last 6 months

and now I'm actually noticing all the mods lol

Can't say the 100 ron has been hurting the last 3 fill ups

not yet anyways..

sorry to go off an a tangent, but how do you clean them anyways? i've been thining about soaking in some disc brake cleaning stuff... but worried about the sensor thingy

you only need to clean the fine thread like part, this was the case with my last car.
