Hi everyone,

Just passing on some information for a friend, who has just entered a new line of business for vehicle/transport PC systems. He is currently looking for some people who are interested in trialing this new technology in their cars – trials users will receive heavily discounted (upto 50% off) prices for installing and running the system in their cars and be the first people to receive the latest updates and developments.
It is basically your chance to get the latest in in-car PC technology for a really low price!

Here are some details for the base system.

VIA Embedded processor.
GPS Unit
80GB (or larger) HD (5400RPM Laptop Drive) <- Purely up to User
512MB RAM <- Purely up to User
7-inch Single DIN Automated touchscreen <- Other touchscreens are available.
Custom systms are possible as well but this obviously requires fabrication
work.
Specialised Touchscreen User Interface
SMART Logic StartUp and Shutdown control
WiFi

Features:
* On the fly playlists: Plays media files like AVI, DivX, MP3, WAV, etc.
Rip DVD's, CD's etc. and store the filed onto the device. You kinda get the
picture, this thing will be a beast of an entertainment system. Store your
whole collection in the HD. If there's not enough room, go for a larger
drive.
* GPS
* WiFi for connectivity to home/work network and internet hotspots.
* Automatic Startup and Shutdown control, either controlled via ACC or IGN.
Shutdown delay can be changed. Logic also monitors the battery level to cut
PC power if battery dips down below certain levels. Stops deep discharging
issues.

Possibilities:
* With the growing amount of USB capable devices the sky is the limit.
Things that can be done or that we are looking to test:
A) Real Time race camera recording and real time access race cam
B) Multiple Screen Output (currently being prototyped for show car).
C) Gesture control
D) OBDII monitoring on the fly.
E) Touchscreen with Radio installed to bring back radio ability for those
that listen to the radio.

Other things that can be currently added to the system:
* Telstra Next-G card installation through PCMCIA slot (internet access on
the move). Also possible to install Unwired card but unsure on quality as
this has not been tested yet.
* Bluetooth for phone dialling (requires compatible Bluetooth phone).
* Automatically activated Reverse camera.
* External DVD-R Combo drive.
* Digital Radio and Video tuner.
* USB hub to connect other USB devices, eg. Cameras, Printers, USB Keys,
etc.

If anyone is interested or needs more information, please PM me your email address and phone number so I can forward it to my friend for him to discuss the details with you, as there are several options for the system available.

Thanks,
Brendan

Hi Mano,

Prices are hard for to say, as he stated to me he didn't want me posting prices away on forums, as they vary according to the system u choose.

I'm guessing he is leaving it flexible at the moment depending on the car used and system chosen.

He is loikng for 10 trial users, and these 10 people will recieve upto 50% off for being trial users and will get the latest updates and features etc.

i can PM you his number if you want to find out more - obligation free off course :lol: :lol:

Cheers,
Brendan
