Subaru Australia has recently become aware of a direct mail campaign in which members of the public have been sent a letter claiming that they have won a free Subaru Impreza.

The letter, titled “Passport for the Lottery Jackpot” contains images of the Impreza and requests that the addressee fills out and returns a form enclosed, including their credit card details, and pays $55 in order to redeem the prize.

Subaru Australia has no knowledge of the origin of the mail campaign and has NOT been involved in sending the correspondence.

Subaru Australia considers the campaign to be a scam and accordingly has advised the various State Departments of Fair Trading and will be requesting that they investigate the matter.

No, I think you pay $55 for 'handling charges'.
