Hi Guys,

Got my car back from Subaru last night. In diagnosing the illumination problem, they must have pulled the dash out and haven't put it back properly. The red ring around the speedo doesn't "complete". Where the fuel economy gauge is, it's black just underneath and you can see the workings of the economy gauge. I emailed Subaru with a pic to show the problem.. and the response I got was "we checked 3 other liberty's and that's normal":



Does anyone have a pic of their dash handy from a MY07 that I can show Subaru?

from memory that looks the same as my MY07 GTB. I think its because of the reflection from the gauge itself. But I will have a closer look.

Doesn't seem right to me.

I am trying to find a pic of the dash, but can't.

My GT doesn't have the gap, and it seems crap that they would make a gap, just doesn't seem right.

I'm pretty anal about these things, I would've remembered seeing it if it was always like that. The other thing is you can actually see the "disc" that the needle is mounted on moving around through that gap.. which is definitely not right....

Anyway, I told them I'll bring it down to show them in person.. just that I've already taken about 3 hours in total off work to get the car to them the last 2 days, so it's going to have to wait. Main reason I emailed them last night itself was to make them aware/have a record that I told them straightaway.

Give me 10 minutes .......

Nope, just reflections.

cool thanks coyote. i'm not going to worry about it.. they need the car back for a day in mid may to fit the body control module so it can wait till then..

Yep, mines the same too.

man i must be getting old to miss stuff like this for 5 straight months either that or i got used to the dash in the outback loaner they gave me and then noticed it on the GTB when i got back in. As long as I know it's normal I'll let it be

haha.. what the outback? it wasn't too bad actually.. but i was glad to be back in the GT

i need to get a H6 RB wagon for a drive.. looking for replacements to the XC70 in september.
