I don't know if anyone's noticed, but Subaru 'seems' to be changing direction with their traditional window design and moving from frameless to framed windows.

I've noticed that the new Tribeca, Impreza and Forester all have framed windows.

Personally I love the frameless windows and it was an influencing factor to purchase Subaru. I'd be REALLY dissapointed to see the Liberty/ Legacy go the same way. That would be just another chink in the Subaru 'point of difference' armour going the way of globalisation!

Interested in everyone elses thoughts.

Cheers,
Deucer.

Personally, i think it has it's good and bad points. :)

Looks great style wise, but car thief's can also take advantage of the rimless design.

It also causes more strain on the door surround rubbers, being frameless.

It's a bit like the "strapped" v "strapless" debate.
Do you accept a bit more risk for a better look? ;)

Put alarm on your car and a warning sticker and a prayer might help.

Rimmed doors have not detered any thieves from holdens.

..causes strain around the door rubber

Should coupes (not 3 doors) and converterbles/cabriolet have rimmed doors, I hope not.
Fix: another bracket to help support the door.

May be the front doors should be rimless and the back ones rimmed! :!:

Frameless for me.

frameless is easier for emergency services to breach into the car if needed tho.

and the glass is supposed to be less likely to shatter if the car overturns.

thats quite true... we get ALOT more stolen holdens than subarus at work (i deal with forensics and stolen cars)

but i prefer frameless... its 1 thing ive always loved about subaru
