Which Gearbox do you have?

While we're posting polls I thought this poll would be interesting. I'm guessing 60% manual?

I dunno. Most of the owners I've met so far have manual, so the percentage might even be higher.

Heh-heh. It cracks me up how many owners get insulted if you even hint that their car might be auto.

I drive a manual but I can understand peeps driving auto. If you spend a big part of your daily commute stuck in traffic for instance a manual would drive you nuts. I've driven both so can see it from both sides.

im just amused at those folk in the tiptronic gearboxes that try and justify them as a part manual...

i grew up in manuals and plan on staying that way..

Im auto on the 3RB I tow a boat up and down the Pacific Hwy from Hawks Nest to Sydney most week ends . So manual was not a option .The clutch in the manual Liberty was a total pig when revering up hill with a boat my last Lib manual went through 4 clutches in 80000k Subaru replaced them all under warranty as they knew that it was a weak point .When I blew the 2nd clutch within 15000k I invited the service manager to my home to see if he could do better he declined as he knew of the problem . The R32 has DSG :D and that is one of the sweetest gear boxes that I have ever used.
Can only hope the next Lib will have a 6or 7 speed auto

Manual all the way until Subaru does a DSG, then I'd convert.

How does DSG work exactly? I know a little bit about the mechanics behind it, but do you still have to shift the gear stick? Just no need for a third pedal for a clutch?

Im auto on my 3RB, just because ive driven manual before.. and i can honestly say its not for me,
i love it when im in a "fun state of mind" mood, but when im lazy and i cbf changing gears..

And i think thats why i like tip-tronic, i get to switch between both sides. But i still leave it in [D].

Also im always in the city and my suburb isn't really manual friendly.. unless you want to race a hoon of course..

It doesn't really bother me i love manual and auto, but i really just needed something in between.

i was cats wiskers away from getting a R32 w/ DSG..
great cars, but aesthetically wasn't for me.

Auto for me.
I'd prefer a manual, but was in too much of a hurry to buy the car at the time, and auto's were all that were coming up in my price range.

Plus I'm lazy.....

I think there will be a fair mix as there are Liberty owners from all walks of life all with different needs.

For family reasons.... Auto will be the pick.

Other then that, I think most GT driver's would pick a Manual.
