Anyone here have issues with opening their fuel cap?

Postby 04GT » Sun Feb 03, 2008 10:31 pm

Tonight I went to fill up, and when i went to pull the lever to pop the fuel cap, it didn't pop open, wtf?

Any ideas as to why? I had a look inside, seems normal to me

Cheers,

You mean the latch or the actual cap?

From what I have read when he pulls the release the cap cover doesn't open enough to get to the cap. Maybe a stretched cable?

When i pull the lever in the car, the fuel cap does not open enough, you know when you pull the pull the fuel lever, the fuel cap cover pops open, mine doesn't do that anymore

ahh ok, so it's the latch/flap thing.

Probably loose cable would be my guess... time to install a keyless remote latch system!!

Are you the original owner?

Check for chassis welds because that's a common problem in cars that have been cut and shut.

Just kidding.
