tell 'im he's dreamin'

i just wanted to put this to the mob..
is it possible to have 190-200 completely user friendly, legal, i'm not playin with shit all the time, above all TOTALLY RELIABLE kwatw?
my assumed shopping list at the mo includes..
fmic (avo, perrin, or whoever the hell made phat's)
bit bigger turbo (maybe garrett)
fuel pump (walbro?)
pulleys (gfb)
ecu (haltech intercepter)
turbo back exhaust (will too big stuff up back pressure?)
catch can (perrin)
fuel rail (perrin side or top, which one will i need?)
injectors
good supply of new undies
is it feasible?
what else will i need?
is it all going to be too expensive to worry about?
why do my ankles hurt?
am i just getting old or was 2 hrs of pickup basketball too much yesterday?

my theory(with a lot of things in life) is if i get tools that can more than do the job required then wear and tear won't be as bad and i won't have to tune the car to within an inch of it's life and i won't have to be wringing it's neck to get it to do what i want......

(waits to be taunted or flamed )

And don't forget the brown corduroy trousers...

I'd be interested in the answers to some of those questions myself...

I've had two wrxs with almost that exact list of mods (but with tmic) travel over 200km between and neither ever missed a beat.

They made a bit less power than you're talking about, but an optimistic dyno probably would have put them where you are talking.

A very good friend with a 2.5 XT has just over 200kwatw and his never misses a beat. Very nice clean car and drivability is still good enough for a daily driver. He's got an ECUTek tune and massive top mount too, no pulleys and not sure about injectors etc.

the pulleys were mainly to try and off set the extra lag of the bigger turbo.
like they say "like taking 50kg's out of your car"

Yes over 200KW ATW in a 2.0L GT is reliable with the right set up

mine makes just over that and now going for a bit more with a different setup (all still with stock internals)

Hey Michael, just for peoples curiosity, do you mind posting what you did to attain over 200atw?

Not everything your car has otherwise the full Japanparts catalogue will be in there.

Might give people an insight into what parts it takes, and sort of $$ to attain the holy grale.

I have about 150 - 170 currently, it would be so nice to get the extra 30kw or so without remortaging the house

mine is actually a 2.5L. would you think that 200kw would be easier and safer with the 25% extra capacity michael, or, if i did exactly what you've done would outputs be similar?
maybe more torque is a possibility?

Adam with the 2.5L turbo you would get the 200 ATW a little easer but your still talking no less than 7.5K just in basic parts needed to get "TRUE" 200+ATW KW +all the labor cost you need if not doing it your self

i have a MY04 2 litre STI with just a 3"TBE exhaust and Ecutek tuning netting 217 kws ATW.. safe tune , running 18.2 psi everything stock

Its very achievable... You just need to find a decent reliable tuner who will guarantee his results and his workmanship

Hey Adam, I can point you in the direction of a good Podiatric colleague of mine in Sydney if you like. You might need orthoses.

Michael.

 Hahaha, did i say ankles?
I meant everything below my eyebrows!
thanks michael but it's purely a "wear'n'tear" issue

send me the details though, my wife wears them and hasn't had them adjusted in years.

i kinda didn't think it would be any cheaper than that for the entire list i've posted. is there anything you have in your car that's not on the list or alternatly, anything on there that you think is wasted money?
cheers
adam

also, thanks to all that have put in there 2c. all info is appreciated.

undies :P

Your list will get you there.

fmic - Trust r-spl / AVO
bit bigger turbo - HKS 2530 kai, straight bolt on, less head aches. I might get one after the wedding to see how it goes. got lots of japanese magazines about it.
fuel pump - walbro
pulleys (gfb) - add it in
ecu (haltech intercepter)
turbo back exhaust (HKS hi power silent, es premium, fujitsubo)
catch can (perrin/trust)
fuel rail (perrin side or top, which one will i need?) - don't need
injectors - sard side feeds.

add extractors - fujitsubo

this will just get you ~200 kw from my initial estimates.
to guarantee it, u'll need bigger turbo.
