Subaru Servicing

Postby Tones99 » Tue Jan 15, 2008 9:45 am

Hi All,
Just wondering what the best place to get my 3.0RB serviced would be. i have heard some bad experiences with Tom Kerr at Nth Ryde. Im at Homebush, but could go to Parramatta or others around the area. I would rather get it serviced at a Subaru dealer (just for the stamp really), as i plan to sell it soon. Oh, its only the 12,500km serivce, so nothing major.

Cheers
Anthony

I wouldn't let a Subaru dealer touch my car, but if you are planning on selling it .. take it to where ever you had the 5,000km service done so that the stamps match. Best case scenario for people who note such things is if that is the same as where you bought it.

Then hope and pray you've got them on a good day.

I've recently had my 12,500k service at Denlo Subaru at Parramatta, I haven't got any complaints about them and the cost was $257 which seems to be the going rate. Once my warranty is up I'll likely go back to my regular service guy.

I had 2 services at Denlo in Parramatta, first was with no problems. However, after the second one, I have noticed that break pedal did't feel right and there was a rattling noise from front right wheel/suspension... so I took back to them to check everything, guess what?! break caliper on the front right was not screwed properly... was basically hanging by one screw - not sure if I would take it back to them again...

Denlo in Parramatta :bomb:

Never again I have had the Lib serviced their 3 times and on each service it has had more problems after service than before.

I just love how they ring after the service to see if every thing was ok with the service .

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the feedback. I would take it to the dealer where i bought it, but they are in Tamworth. Just a tad far for service (but a good drive). Parramatta would be the closest, but i might try and get to Lindfield this time.

Moggy, $257 is not a bad price for a Subaru dealer.

Buddah, i hope you give them an earfull when they do call.

Thanks again
Anthony

i take it in there with a complaint and they charge me 70 bucks an hour for it!! WTF. i dont normally see this cause the tax invoice i receive says "no charge" hmmmm

Ours goes to Sydney Subaru at Lilyfield.

Used them for the Rex as well most of the time.

Have had very few issues with them. Pretty much always do a good job.

Yeap, I hear ya!

My WRX before and the Lib now were initially leased and Denlo made a good quid out of the lease, in the end it kinda does come out of your pocket cause all the costs are consolidated at the end of the lease, so still ask for the breakdown on what was done and how much it cost.

Denlo = Thumbs Down (from my own experience)

I've used SVM @ Lindfield as well since 2004, can't complain, they've never refused any warranty claim(including replacing the injectors). Car has never come back worse than it went in.Service has been good in my experience.

I've been going to Subaru Bankstown for over 3 years now, both with my MY04 GT and now my MY07 GT STi.

Don't know if they do it for other customers, but when I took the MY04 there with any issues, the mechanic would always take me through trouble shooting it and explaining everything to me up front.

It's a smaller place compared to places like Denlo or Tynan, but I like it.
