Run a larger external speaker and amp.

Buddah I run the 920 which is pretty similar in function to the 720.
It's fantastic. Everybody that I know that has a parrot, or something similar, loves the function of mine as soon as they see it working.

LBY can you tell me when the latest map was released? On the TomTom site they are crap at actually telling you the date that it was released. I don't want to download it and it's the one I have!

Joel,
Does the 720 have an external mic connection?
On my 910 the internal mic was crap so I plugged in the external mic and it works just like a full on hands-free system.

I'm with you Buddah about the airvent.
There is another hardmount from TomTom. I was thinking about doing with that. The mount could actually come out of the console between the two centre mounts.
I have actually done a semi hardwire. I've ripped out all the panels and connected the power supply to the ciggy lighter from the back. Then put the mic wire behind the capping on the pillar closest to the sun visor, so I then mounted the mic on the visor. All the wires just pop out in the bottom right corner of your window. If I park the park in a suspect place I can still take the whole unit off the window and no one would be any wiser whether I've got satnav or not.

the 2008 map is out now, but its $150 but u get it free if u get the 720 at the moment depending on wat store u go to. Id just stick with the one u got unless u want the extra speed camera's on there
SkoobyGT wrote:Yeah and I have been past speed cameras without the chime going off

chances are if was a fixed camera it might not be on ure mapping because its a new camera. That function works for fixed cameras only

it has an external mic built in so u can make calls directly from the gps system. Why did u want a connection?
Hope thats a bit of help guys

I've got the 910 so I don't need another unit. I just don't want to spend $150 on the 08 map when I can possibly get it for free! From what I've been told it's got a few roads on it that aren't in use at the moment anyway. I think Ric's got the 08 maps and it tried to take him down EastLink (from another post). I don't need that hassle.
As far as the mic the internal one the 910 was crap so I put in the wired one and people don't even know I'm in the car now. I hope they've fixed this problem with the 720.

It doesnt cover the aircon vents guys you position it over the cubby hole, the beauty is the cubby still opens as well it is brilliant.
