Personally I don't get it............Johnny has done pretty well this decade and a bit. Our economy is strong and held its own against slump in global trends.

High speed broadband..i.e fibre optic cable.... good luck trying to lay it....higher speed, higher plans, faster you chew thru bandwidth, more piracy. the faster you go, the more you download..

yeh im shitty rudd got in. Firstly the whole 'we need to act about climate change now' thing was a load of ballony. How many people have energy efficient and environmentally friendly materials in ure household? chances are sweet F A, so thats the first problem. the second is Kyoto. i dont know if many people have researched Kyoto but i covered it in uni last semester and its a double edged sword. Kyoto is bascially the reduction of green house gas emission, and in Australia we predominantly use coal for our power. Now, if Australia were to cut back our coal dependancy by 60%, goodbye economy, because coal and other resources are a major factor in out GDP, and goodbye jobs. The 2nd problem is that because Australia is such a massive land space, the most affordable and accesable green power is nuclear, yet old mate Kevin says no to nuclear. It will cost the government billions and billion of $$$ to do nuclear, but solar/wind/water is going to cost at least 10 times.

Secondly, Krudd is a union sex slave. They run the labor party, and im going into the cosntruction industry (construction management), and the last thing i want is some nob shine from some nobby union group telling everyone to fuck off and halter work for a few day just cause some doosch hasnt cleaned the toilets properly (yes this has happened to my old man when he worked in Mt. Isa Mines). The IR laws are great, ive asked people in large business and they are happy with it. Like XRC15T
said, if ure doing ure work u wont have a problem. Its only the lazy fuckers who gets sacked. And since the IR laws are going to be scrapped, hello court appearence after court appearence regarding an unfair dismissal.

Thirdly, he apparently got the majority of the votes from the healthcare debate. The reason its so fucked up in our hospitals is cause they're run by the state, and surprise surprise every state and territory is run by a Labor government.

All in all Kevin Rudd does have some good policy's, but im very very nervous as to what is about to unfold in the next few years. John Howard was probably the best PM we have ever had, and although he was an ass at times, he was still doing a hell of a lot of good.

yeah im not too sure a this change was the right choice. i mean the Government is not always gonna make everyone happy right?
Johny did a great for the economy, but i guess the thing that got Rudd over the line was the appeal of his policys to the average battler. but hey thats fair enough.

i think from my empolyment POV we are screwed.. never liked ol johnny, but he has done well for the ADF, ( ie new aircraft, new tanks etc etc ) and it was a labour goventment, that contributed to the defence force not only loosing a good portion of its personell, but loosing it all to civillian contractors!

I think contractors are going to be the way of the future though. There is a lot less liability in contracting, and i'm pretty sure soldiers could be contracted. But I don't know, I'm only in the reserves

im just over having to deal with civvies for defence assets... we are slowly being overshadowed by civillians, and cant do our jobs properly because of it..
