Car Servicing at MRT performance

Hi Everyone,

Been taking my MY10 Subaru Liberty to the dealer for its regular service. Considering trying MRT Performance in Rhodes Sydney. I have read a number a good reviews on them online. Wanted to know if any members have had their cars serviced by them and how you found them. Is it worth switching or should I stick with the dealer. Heard that dealer uses a lot of apprentices and MRT use fully qualified subu mechanics. Thank you.

I haven't taken my car to MRT, however, I HAVE had dealings with them enquiring about parts and a few other things etc and the way they have conducted themselves in emails has been abhorent. So f**k MRT. Do some more research and look elsewhere.

As Buddah has said though, f**k the stealerships. I have been using the mechanic that I have used for over 10 years and as a comparison, Subaru wanted around $300 for the first scheduled service, my mechanic did it for $150. 30,000kms later, no service has cost over $150 and that is using genuine parts.

I have had the same experience.
I have never taken my car there but in the past I have made inquiries and was very very unimpressed with the (potential) customer service.
Obviously they don't need the business.
Presumably they have a lot of tyre kickers and are over it, which might be fair enough but there are plenty of other shops out there that aren't like that.

That has nothing to do with their technical expertise though.

I used them a few years ago a few times. The owner is arrogant and rude and some of the work/diagnosis on my car was piss poor.

I never went back again.

I have told everyone I ever meet with a Subaru to never go there.

The tall poppy syndrome LOL In there defense they get so much shit from forum fanboys and tyre kickers taking up there time.
I can somewhat see why some think they are arrogant but if you ring up book you car in I have never had any trouble.

If you want to save a few dollars of cant afford a specialist the local grease monkey down the local can do a cheap job for you

Talk about reading the first few words and getting a faint sense of self satisfaction  Apparently my not wanting to give MRT my hard earned after they spoke to me like I'm a moron and used their well publicised "scare" tactics makes me somehow unqualified to provide some input on my experiences with them :( I'll remember to get my experiences approved before posting to make sure I don't qualify as a fanboy... That's it, my weekend is now ruined so I'm going to go cry and hug myself in the bottom of the shower and figure out someway of making myself better.

One last thing

taking up there time

There = their

THIS is why you dont go anywhere near MRT.

This WAS my engine which was a "fully forged" build. Lucky for me i didnt pay for it but i came into its possesion when it had only done 30,000km. I have known how the engine was treated in its short life before i had it and it was babied.

MRT ripped off a close friend of mine with this engine. They re-used his old water pump on a new build, they out forged pistons into it which are no name and no record of any part number ect on invoice. The build was a total joke. Every piston skirt was scuffed, the bores were'nt honed properley and the bearing shells were put in dirty.

They have a total lack of ability and simply dont give a shit. This engine was invoiced at $10k. The quality of work is disgusting.

To top it off, the engine that this one replaced was also a MRT job done with the previous owner. Spun a bearing and went to shit. Doesnt suprise me looking at their build quality.

Andrew that's me the next morning after posting while drunk on these forums.

And yeah Jim, nothing more needs to be said after those pics.
Unless PHAT decided to come in here and let us in on all the MRT fuck ups he has had to deal with.
