I just booked the bro's car in for service next wednesday(the "A" service - 12500km or 6 month one) .............said it would be about $290 bucks for the 3 litres...........does this sound right?...............i thought Jap cars were meant to be cheaper to service?.......tis more expenxive than my car

This is at SVM btw, doesn't someone on here work there? :) .....discount?

Cheers,
Brendan

I think mine was about $270.
That's cheap compared to what my Mazda 323 used to cost :)

got mine done at svm, 3mth 5000service (with 2kon the clock) was $135 . Thats expensive oil and handbrake tighten! Id say that are all the same roughly, Wife had a B4 serviced at svm and was very happy with service though so will stick with em for the moment
Anybody doing servicing with independents, ie shedule service, and any issues regarding warranty?

Your factory manufacturers warranty will still apply so long as you get ur car serviced by a licenced mechanic.

What parts do they replace during a service? I've still got a few thousand k's to go until my first service is due. It'll be the first "car" I've had serviced in a while. I've had a diesel 4WD for the past 8 years. It was still dealer serviced though.

The main thing would be the oil filter. Other than that most normal servicing is only fluids and spark plugs so thats not an issue.

With bigger servicing like 100k, then belts etc are replaced.
