A boring topic - floor mats

I just had my 12,500k service done by Bankstown Subaru. I noted that the drivers floor mat had worn through in the five months I had owned the car. Without further prompting, the replaced all the floor mats. Whilst this is wonderful, they will just wear out again in a couple of months.

As many of you know, the MY07 carpet floor mats are 100% carpet. In all the other cars I have owned, there is usually a plastic or rubber patch over the centre of the drivers mat where your feet rest under the pedals.

Today I called the Subaru 1800 customer service number and Jade took down my details and said she would pass them along for consideration. It kind of made me think nothing would happen. I was asked if I would like a set of rubber mats

Perhaps if other Liberty owners were to contact Subaru, or have them replaced under warranty they might be more inclined to do something about them.

Roddez,

I seemed to notice that wif mine aswell.

They werent replaced under warranty. But then again i wasnt that fussed.

I prefer having fresh new ones every few months and then b4 the end of my warranty get sum rubber ones aswell.

Phil.

Yeah fish, the MY07 got a new set of floor mats with no rubber patch, i thought this was a bit odd when i got mine cause my MY05 mats had the rubber.

Ive noticed wearing aswell on my mat & thats only after 6000 odd kms.

Might hit subaru up for a new set at my next service. :D

I know how they look like Fish! Thanks for the kind offer though.

I just dont like the rubber bit. Prefer just the carpet.
