This might be a dumb question.

I just noticed that the two keys supplied are different. One has a completely plastic case and the Subaru logo on the back is just embossed. The other has a metal hole where the keyring attaches and it has a proper coloured logo.

The keys themselves don't look any different. Are they likely to be functionally different?

nope, not that i can tell anyway. i use the all plastic one because my keys always get marked up.

its the same key that they just cut cost on. My keys for the 05 were both the same - metal ring, colour logo and the lock and unlock buttons were paint filled too.
