How to?? Removal of DVD SatNav system?

I need to remove the OEM SatNav DVD drive in the glove box. Has anyone done this before?
If so, how? From what I can see, there's just not enough screws there to make it fall apart.

I think you may be facing a "Trial & Error" task... I've looked into this before and found nothing for the Aus lib's,
There is alot of info on LecagyGT.com but it is of no use to us...

Hmmmm, there's got to be a service manual out there somewhere on how to pull it apart.
i can get the centre console and screen out easy enough, it's just the glove box and DVD unit.

I saw a thread here on replacing the A/C Cabin Filter, It had a walkthrough w/pics on how to remove the glovebox.
It may help a little, I'll try to find it...

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3773This is the pollen filter/glove box removal and you can see the pouch (on this car) where my SatNav DVD lives. The question is, does that box have all the screws visible I need to get to the whole DVD unit, I'm hoping so.
See what the remainder of the week brings because my weekend is full this time around.

Hi There,It can be a prick to remove as there are blocked screws behind the glovebox,there is a hidden 1 behind the unit and there are brackets that need bending to get access.Basically start with the glovebox,inner trim and then undo what you see and be easy so you dont break anything.Take your time.Hope this helps.

If i can ask, why are you removing it? Are you removing the whole SatNav Media Player? Cause I'm interested if you want to get rid of it?

Removing to get to the cabling behind it (Audio line out) not removing it all together.

Given that I've been asked a couple of times, I won't be removing the sat nav permenantly, I just want to get access to the cabling (audio out specifically) at the back of it.

Hey Craig, A serious question: Do you have an aux input installed? if so, while you have your system out could post a pic of the port & plug
connection? I'm trying to find an alternative to the part/cable Subaru have to offer...
