Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

I've started a new topic at http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?t=1960
to act as a summary of all OBD scanners we now about.
Please post your comments etc there, and hopefully we can build up a good database of info about which ones work.

Chriskan - NOPE!!!

Thats what I bought and failed dismally - wont connect to our ECU's which is a real pity because its a good looking screen.

Okay about a topic for such gauges, fine idea. What about the things we see coming out of them? Eg, in my 2.5i OB, in only a couple of days, I am seeing peak ignition figure of +44degrees, and knock of -65 . To me that sounds like -19 or retarded 19degrees....does that sound reasonable, normal? Running BP Ultimate 98Ron. And the unit confirms my suspicion that the temp gauge is a con job - never moves off the same spot once fully warmed - unit shows movement from 88 to 96C depending on ambient and ac on/off. Gauge leaves the stop at around 55C. Mazda did this with oil pressure gauges on late Mx5s - if there was pressure and idiot light was off, point here, else zero.

DaREN,

now have unit in my 08 gtb, and it tells me most things except anything related to knock correction. I have ecuexplorer on a laptop connected to it in RS232 mode, but only get 'ecu disconnected'. I am using a USB->serial converter, and a std serial cable, 9 pins at each end - generic thing with DB25 also at each end. anything obviously wrong with this set up ? Do I need a special cable ?
tks
