Yeah, these iPod adapters are great. I've had one in my STi for about a year now.
Really easy to fit, just don't scratch your head unit on the gear stick when you open the dash up ... :x

They work like a charm. I had a minor problem setting up my playlists originally. They need to be named clarion1 clarion2 etc... (note the lower case). The unit pretends to be an external CD changer to the McIntosh head unit.
Cheers.

I would not bother with an iphone at all yet......only 2G!!!

You cant be serious with a device like that and then not have decent data capability - wait for next years 3G model

Apple had a lot of trouble with battery life on a 3G model so only released it as 2G for now. But as with anything - data rates are the most important spec for future proofing

Nothing wrong with 2G! I use it mostly with Wi-fi anyway, I don't have the money to pay for data OTA

My only concern is that I have heard rumours that Optus will be discontinuing its 2G network and running full 3G.

Hey guys,
I am looking to get some ipod goodness as well and took apart my head unit today after a bit of reading on the forums.

Mine doesnt have a cnet cable from the headunit to the stacker and instead has a pcb connecting the two.

Have a look at this post for a pic http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26799&page=2

It appears that the posters on the lgt board have had the unit installed sucesfully and have their ipods running.

I have two questions for the pcb connected stackers, I take it you dont need the y cable for this setup? and does the stacker still work?

I think the non-Mcintosh deck is Kenwood?

I don't see why it wouldn't... but please confirm to make sure that it's a Kenwood unit before you go out and buy one.

And don't hold me personally responsible if it doesn't work ;)
