I leave the ohlins fully soft, front and rear. As good as the stock bilsteins. As soon as you lean on them they firm up automatically anyway. Slight front wheel spin due to the squat characteristics but absolutely lightyears ahead of the billys. Wind them up to about 20 clicks in and 25 in the back and on a half smooth road happily power on oversteer with pin point precision if you want, and otherwise oodles of grip and the most controlled trail braking you'd ever think possible.
One corner is enough to know they are not in the same league as any other bolt on coilover. I was in the midst of having some Penske's made up into magnesium housings, and make my own strut tops with a high density urethane and the oem pressings, but the DFV's for the price are so far more than worth it.
Other option was KW v3's using bilstein housings, but it was going to be an 8 week lead time prior to shipment and they dont have the shock travel I want in a street car on aussie roads. Problem with most coilovers is they just cant keep the tyres in touch with the road during any undulation, and are severly oversprung and under controlled on re bound.
