Spec.B no sunroof?

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Don't let them put an aftermarket sunroof in it.

I had the 06 Liberty GT Tuned by Sti (which didn't have a sunroof as standard). I had the dealer fit a sunroof, which they did, and the installers cut through the roof strengthening bars to do it.

I subsequently found out that there is a different roof panel for sunroof cars to non sunroof cars. The sunroof roof panel is more expensive to make because they have to strengthen it differently without using simple and cheap crossbars. Cars without standard sunroofs get the cheaper roof panel pressing.

The problem with all this is, the dealers and most prospective private Subaru buyers mostly all know this stuff and steer away from Subarus with aftermarket sun roofs, which isn't good come resale time.

I know this from painful experience, fortunately the 07 model gets the sunroof back as standard.

every car i've ever owned has had no sunroof except the new one and the whole family thinks it's da shizzle... 8)

I agree, I don't have a sunroof, doesn't bother me at all, if I need some sun go outdoor, if I need some wind in my hair I open a window.

BUT having said that you ordered a 07 spec B which should have it.
And you are entitled to it.

Take it back and geta new car.... you paid for it and shouldn't accept a aftermarket "fix"

PLUS get some freebies for the heartache and hassle.

meh, in general i don't dig sunroof's....i'm with xrc15t...if i want sun, i can go outside....i prefer to have the structural rigidity and less weight...but as everyone else has said, don't let them cut an aftermarket one in to the car....demand the car that you ordered (if you can live with the inevitable delays)

Unfortunately i've got an exam this afternoon which im heading into uni now, so i'll have to wait till monday, sunroofs don't really worry me too much as my old accord had one. Looking under the hood i noticed it stated subaru liberty b-4 next to the vin, and on the subaru japan site, their liberty's don't have sunroofs? Or do all the liberty's say that under the hood?

Probably stuffed up and used their roof instead.

My concern would be explaining why you car didn't come with a sun roof when you are trying to trade of sell it .. When it comes time to sell their will be many available with sunroofs at the same price that you wish to sell so you may need to take a few 1000 off to compete on the market.
And to those that think a sunroof is overrated it was a beautiful drive though the Southern Highlands of NSW yesterday with the bloody air con turned off and the sun filtering through the sunroof .

PS Tell them to shove it you have been ripped off. And if they use the argument that you received satnav free tell them to take it out and replace it with a better unit for $500

Buddah shakes his head at this comment .i prefer to have the structural rigidity and less weight.. PMSL what weight 4 or 5 kgs??????

Gead is correct re weight, a sunroof is usually about is 10-15kgs then add a little bit for roof support. (whilst moving it would also have a different weight aerodynamic effect)

But back to topic...

OK so the sunroof weighs a extra 10kg s so what dose that matter???We are talking about a family sedan not a F1. I doubt that the difference in performance could be measured between a sedan with a sunroof or without.

BTW what is a different weight aerodynamic effect ???

Well its not going to be a super doooper massive difference but it does have an effect...

re dead weight, try put a mdf sub box in your boot and see how the car feels.
re aerodynamics an similar example is try opening your windows and driving a full tank Vs driving with the windows closed. to a lesser effect also the downforce with tilted sunroof. not much but it nether the less has some effect.

but meh. don't think anyone really cares about it, cos like you said we're not racing...
