Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

it's illegal in NSW to modify your tail or headlights but you'd be very unlucky to get pinned for it. that being said, it's a safety thing so i guess it makes sense

I wouldn't do it. Someone smashes into the back of you, and its going to give the person at fault a good reason to make you at fault.

the reflector in your "taillights" must be easily seen from a distance and of course brake and indicators

Tinted covers that do not cover the indicator, are removable without the use of tools, and are not used while the headlights are on are acceptable.

I think that law is more pointed at fog lights or aftermarket high beams you see people put on there front bar, you see alot of 4wd's with these

I was out the front of my house this afternoon having a little tinker when who should come up behind me? A highway patrol car!

Old mate gets out and starts asking what was wrong with my car? I just said I was having a little tinker and that all was good.He then took notice of my tinted tailights and began to tell me "I know they look good mate but you are supposed to have a visible reflector".

He was pretty good about it saying he wouldn't defect me and that I should get it looked at asap.I just told him I had a spare set(which I do) and that I'd change them later. Then he walks across the street and puts a $500 ticket on a car for parking the opposite direction of traffic! The guys reaction to it was the best I've seen in a while.

So there it is from the horses mouth. If you have tinted lights the reflector must be visible.

Tinting of tail lights have been illegal for years and years. My old man got done for them when he was a hoon in the late 60's/early 70's. :P
