Removing intake resonator...

* Undo clip and take out panel filter
* Take out half of the airbox
* Undo screws that hold the other half of the airbox in place (two on bottom, one on side facing towards front of car inside the box)
* Take out airbox by rotating it and the resonator

I swapped the filter aswell to a K&N and Im sure the car feels more responsive... certainly noisier (BOV sound) :)

Not by much, at least not with the AVO panel filter. I can hear it only sometimes.

Wonder if the HKS panel filters are much better...

I have the HKS filter and resonatorectomy, you can hear heaps of spook up and bov sound especially when its cold out!

the resonator's in a seperate box right? so after removing it, i just re do the step to put the airbox back in?

it sits below the filter box on Gen IV's but older cars have them sitting inside the wheel well.

awesome induction noise around 3000-4000rpm. love it =) i wanna get an intake for it soon. Suggestions?

You can also mod the bottom half of the box and add pvc piping for more cold air induction. Sleepergtb did it and looks stealthy!

I didn't hear a huge increase of induction noise when I did mine... mine must be broken! :P

Considerable increase in induction noise on 2.5lt. Not so much 2.0lt

it's N/A hahaha

it's the 2.0R, the limited edition one with the sti spoiler.
currently thinking about the blitz sonic power air cleaner with eifel carbon intake duct or maybe a flatt racing super intake. waiting for some seller to reply me on quotes first.


Installed 8000K Hid for the low beam today. Looks superb :D :D :D

LOL. my wife thought the car was broken the first time she drove it after a visit to phat's!
