Using Mother's California Gold 3 Stage Process with a random orbital to get rid of swirl marks-works very well.

1. Pre Wax Cleaner
2. Sealer & Glaze
3. Carnauba Wax

Also heard good things re Bowdens Own and Zymol.

ChrisGT have to agree with that combo, I used it on a previous car, with a Random Orbital and it came out really well! I haven't been that impressed with the new meguiars products. I think an RO makes all the difference personally.

I am using Meguiers NXT which I think is really good but does anybody know of a better polish that I could use.

Want as close to showroom shine as possible.

what colour car do u have mate? some products will suit certain colours better than others - also how much did u want to spend?

nxt isn't bad - i just find it doesn't last long and for similar price, i found other products that lasted much longer and looked better :)

if u wanted something like zaino or zymol, you'd have to make sure your surface is well prepped before u apply them , otherwise they won't last as long or look as good :)

if u wanted to save some time i'd recommend using an all in one product like klasse aio,

if u want that little extra in looks, i'd recommend applying a carnuaba over the top of the sealant

i'd also recommend getting a spray wax that u can use after every wash or so, so u can maintain the protection and shine - e.g duragloss aquawax, optimum car wax, pinnacle crystal mist or souveran.

all this really depends on how keen you are and what your budget is :)

i'd give Dave at waxit.com.au a ring if you have any troubles deciding what to use - very nice and knowledgeable bloke, and no bullshit bias's :)

goodluck :D

For the last 5 years I have only ever used Bowdens products (a little on the pricey side) but when used correctly the first time you can really see the difference of a deep rich shine, I apply two coats of the wax.

Will do, won't be for another week or so. Can't wait as the car is the dirtiest I've ever had it and could really use a rejuvination.

Ric
What Brendan says, depends on
what colour and metallic or base
everyday or occ drive
garaged or street
most importantly how much time you want to put in, the wax or sealant final result is dependent on the prep beforehand
Photos of mine after about 16hours hard yakka[img]

This was waxed with Swsswax Samurai and topped with zaino Z8 spray
Wax generally gives a "wet paint" look wheras sealants tend to give a bright "bling" look that really shows the metallic up, all down to what you like
Best advice is to ring or email Dave at waxit, will take you thru what u want to achieve and how to do it, and if you have a problem while doing it can generally get him on the phone and will help u out
Hope this helps

Yeah Adam, I am getting a stage 2 for my car. The paint does not require a stage 3, it's not that bad.
