Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Got the dyno tune done today.

Been a long wait the past two weeks, but it's the first oppourtunity to get it done.

First let me say, Paul from Pulse Racing is an absolute legend. Top guy, willing to 'waste' his time and tell you what you want to know, what to expect, options etc.

I made 168kw atw (running 167.2 now  ). Paul said that was a safe everyday tune, which will give better economy as well.

It drives now like it should have out of the factory. Not an absolute weapon in my eyes, but it goes well for the basic performance mods.

Mods in relation to engine are, catback exhaust, Apexi CAI, SSQ BOV, which gave me 122kw atw. After the tune today it gave me 168 over the 122 which for the money is a great increase.

46kw gain, me happy

Nice! 46kW for just those mods is great.

Wonder how much I can expect to gain with just an A'PEXi pod... no engine mods planned :)

btw did he increase boost pressure from the ECU solenoid as well?

I never noticed any real difference with apexi or exhaust really, but with it tuned up I did.

Boost is now at 15psi running off the ecu, which tapers off from there.

Any higher doesn't really make any safe power increase.

Nice! Do you have a boost gauge? How does boost build? i've read that the stock solenoid will build boost quite gradually compared to an EBC which will build boost much quicker. But we're talking $500 vs $0 in parts

So this was just a reflash of the stock ECU? Do you think you could ask him if he knows anyone in Melbourne who does it  hehehe

Yeah boost is gradual, but gives good throttle response al the way through.

Torque has gone from about 300NM to 48NM which is a massive gain on what makes the car feel quick.

There is a guy in Melbourne called Vin I think it is, he does the V-Tune, so nicknamed.

What sort of power he gets I am not sure, maybe try him and see?

Did a bit of a look just then, and STI Docklands do the V tune? dont knwo what power they get from the GT's but I am interested.

Just spoke to Vin for your information, for $900 he will get 135kw atw on stock system.

He stated they run about 110kw - 115kw and will get the extra 20kw or so.

Just come to sydney and get Paul to get you 45kw, for not much more $$

Thanks bud! I'm not after big number gains, however driveability and drive-by-wire sensitivity improvements would be great - the auto is worse than the manual when it comes to throttle responsiveness. :(

Sure, $$ might not be much different, but sanity is... hahaha

Well if you're going from 0.7bar to 1.1 bar...

still, 480 is a really big push.

P.S. Adam I love your avatar. It's soo 2002 but still... makes me chuckle every time I see it :D
