Just curious as to whether any of you have purchased your STI in Auto? I know it's not ideal but whether the ball-n-chain had a say and forced you that way...

Same as Rosso - Sorry. Did try an auto Outback and must admit using I mode in auto was very frustrating. In the manual a light on the dash will flash to advise a gear change (never change when it says) the auto just changes.

i have a my06sti auto,
at times i do regret not having a manual , but i do like to relax and enjoy the drive i also use the controls on the stearing to change gears especically at speed and take a corner or need to stop.
no ball and chain in the decission process
