Indecators stop flashing when lock/unlock

Nearly everything is in here to start with.

Indecators stop flashing when lock/unlock

Postby mjr07gtbwagon » Thu May 09, 2024 8:19 am

Hi Everyone,
I have noticed that the wifes indicator's have stopped working when you lock the car. They work when indicating etc but not when you lock?
I thought there was a post on here somewhere but I'm unable to find it. I have replaced the relay with no success.

Thanks in advance
Mark

You didn't mention what model your wife's car is.

I'm not even sure he's talking about his wifes car.
Apparently i've never been on live television before

Mark: you replaced the relay *with* success since it has everything to do with indicating and not a lot to do with the flash option for lock unlock. That option might be in the FSM workshop manual along with the option to have the horn beep during lock unlock. Perhaps the keyless entry/security section?

Or maybe I’m wrong, mistaken, ill informed?
Here’s a post on the indicator relay being related to flashing indicators on lock unlock, but in the context of led indicators: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=13271

So maybe try a led indicator specific relay?
Iirc a guy in Sydney, Kane, makes these with all the fancy blinking hazard options.
