Subaru Liberty 2010 2.5 L Gen 5 Battery Replacement

Postby Sigma » Sat Apr 13, 2024 5:35 pm

Hey guys,

Model: Subaru Liberty 2010 2.5L Gen 5 (non turbo)

The original OEM battery was Panasonic that I had to replace few years ago and couldn't find exact replacement at that time, so I installed Century NS60 MF. This has 430 CCA (less than original Panasonic), less width than normal batteries and slim terminals.

Now, I am looking to replace this battery as it is almost end of life now. however, I am little confused with the recommended battery by Century and other catalogue (supercheap auto etc). They all recommend Century 55D23R MF but that size does not fit in my car (width is more and battery terminals are thick).

In the Subaru user/specification manual, the recommended battery type is 34B19R but I am unable to find similar anywhere.

So the question is, shall I again go with the Century NS60 MF or is there a better battery (CCA more than 430) in similar L x W size that will fit in?

Thanks,
Sigma

Ok, I did some research and found a better alternate for NS60 battery by SuperCharge MF55B24R.

https://www.supercharge.com.au/battery/mf55b24r/

Although neither NS60 nor MF55B24R comes in search for Subaru Liberty 2010 but this is what will fit in and has small terminals.
