so who/which company has the best 95RON fuel ??

As mentioned by a member previously, everyone has their own opinions / experiences about which fuel is the best.

Trail & error is probably the best thing for you at this stage. Just stick to the big brands to avoid bad petrol etc.

I still have to say, if you want to get the best performance & mileage from your car (Regardless of what engine you are running) I would stick with 98.

Its pretty much pot luck with the low quality/handling standards the petroleum companies have in Australia.

Just hope the tanker hasn't just filled the underground tanks (and swirled up 20 years worth of shit off the tank floor) 20 minutes before you've pulled up to the bowser..

i would have to say that would be incorrect.. only cause my best friend is in the petrol game

he told me most of the big names import or produce there own petrol e.g. mobil, shell, B.P.. and control 100% of the fuel coming into the country..
the small independant brands e.g. speedway buy from those refineries using there own tankers (what my friend does)

so it comes down to the independant servo owner if he wants to change the mixture for his own benefit.


he even went to elaborate about when a big brand E.G shell runs out of a particular type of petrol e.g. 98 RON they seek supply from there competition e.g. mobil and he said that happens alot.

So when you think you using V-Power you could be actually using BP Ultimate..

Premium (98 RON) petrol is better than 95 RON premium and 91 RON.

I get 7.6 L/100 km on highway on an '06 H6 Spec B.

Combined drive is about 8.6 L/100km.

I once filled with 95 RON (Caltex Safeway - Bendigo) and got 11.1 L/100 km on highway driving.

So yes, you save money with 98 RON and your car drives better, probably cleaner and no pinging on my car.

100 RON Race petrol is a waste of money.

Current affairs found that caltex had the best ULP and AMPOL (i think) had the worst.

BP Ultimate is just OK but other servos have been found to put ULP in BP ultimate tanks.

In BrisVegas we have 2 refineries, either side at the mouth of the river.
There is a well used pipeline under the river connecting them.
