Roddez Road Trip

Postby Roddez » Thu Jul 10, 2008 3:19 pm

I have just returned from giving my Liberty a big workout. I drove from Sydney to Adelaide via Hay and back via Penola and Bendigo. I covered 4,700K's over 9 days.

The highlight of the trip was the roads around the Adelaide Hills. I intended to drive from Handorf back into Adelaide via the back roads. This drive should have taken about 25 minutes, but 2 hours later I was still driving, totally lost, low on fuel and with a huge grin on my face.

I would have to say that these roads were the most enjoyable roads I have ever driven. They were tight and hilly, yet open enough to see if there was any traffic coming the other way. The traffic was light as well so that helped.

I also managed to average 7.0 L/100K on the way back up the Hume Highway. The only problem was the rattle in the centre front speaker on the dash. After 4 hours on the Hay Plain it almost drove me nuts!

So, if you are ever in Adelaide, in a car that handles, go for a drive in the Adelaide Hills. You won't regret it.[/url]
