HKS SSQV

For those who have got an SSQV on their Liberties:

Did you use the model-specific kit?

Did the engine cover have to be cut?

Do you have pics of the bov install?

GFB was theo only brand I came across that has an application specific BOV that doesn't require mods or cutting.

Everything seems to be universal and will require some sort of cut on the engine cover.

I do too. They are quite different in the sounds they produce (GFB and HKS). Were you looking to change to the whistle?

I think GFB has an adapter that you can fit in place of the trumpet to make it whistle similar to the SSQV's.

Contemplating the whistle, but rrp is $39 and there's not that much of a markup on them...

Should run my bov back in atmo again. Or, just do what I am thinking of doing and going back to a near-silent setup (panel filter, plumback BOV) and just hear the sound of turbo spool :)

My understanding (and I dont know the reasoning behind it) is that you cannot fit the whistle to the Liberty GT (GFB model)

Maybe due to the flange bolt being quite close to the trumpet, perhaps? *shrug* just guessing. cos I found I had to remove the trumpet before I could fit/remove the BOV.

engine idling all over the place, pulse racing had to plumb it back in the end.
but then again he's running to avo450L turbo, so don't think u have to worry too much until we chuck a bigger turbo on your car.

I have rough idle issues, but that was before the bov was atmo. Tried plumbing it back but that didn't make a difference. Might be due to the downpipe.
It's running in 50/50 atm :)
